Smaller, more rugged defibrillator/monitor now a staple on Angel MedFlight air medical transports
Angel MedFlight has introduced another top-level innovation to its premier worldwide air medical operation. The ultra-lightweight, compact ZOLL® Propaq® MD Monitor/Defibrillator is now a fixture on all Angel MedFlight’s air medical flights.
The Propaq MD is the only FDA-cleared airworthy defibrillator to provide simultaneous monitoring of three invasive pressures necessary for treating critical patients during long transports. This highly advanced combination monitor/defibrillator eliminates the need for separate monitors and defibrillators and has adult, pediatric and neonatal patient monitoring capabilities.
“We have always sought out leading-edge solutions and innovations to further impact the superior care we give our patients,” says Angel MedFlight President, CEO and founder Jeremy Freer. “Implementing the ZOLL Propaq MD exemplifies our proven commitment to advancing patient care and the entire air medical transport industry.”
Developed as a joint effort by the United States Department of Defense, Welch Allyn and ZOLL, a leader in resuscitation and critical care technologies, the Propaq MD is the smallest, lightest, most advanced monitor/defibrillator for military and civilian air medical operations.
Having used the Propaq MD on air medical flights since late 2010, Angel MedFlight critical care flight paramedic, Jeff Raebel, appreciates the advanced functionality and easy transport of the Propaq MD, which is half the size and weight of other cardiac monitors.
“The Propaq MD’s long-lasting, rechargeable battery system enhances our ability to care for critical patients over long distances,” says Raebel. “In addition, the large display gives us easy visibility and access to all patient monitoring data at once.”
The ZOLL Propaq MD is the latest advancement in Angel MedFlight’s arsenal of patient medical transport innovations, and you can be sure there will be more to come!
