If you or someone you know is working toward a degree in an aviation-related field at an Arizona college or university, please note that the deadline for the $3,000 Scholarship for Excellence in Aviation is quickly approaching. All entries must be postmarked by July 16th to be considered for the 2010 award. The scholarship will be awarded in August and the recipient will receive $3,000 toward his or her tuition at an Arizona college or university.
Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance established the Scholarship for Excellence in Aviation in conjunction with and administered by the Arizona Business Aviation Association (AZBAA) to encourage a spirit of service and resourcefulness in future aviation business professionals.
Applicants must prepare a three-minute video biography. The video should address the following items:
- What does a career in aviation mean to you?
- Share something you have done to demonstrate resourcefulness, creativity, initiative or tenacity to overcome a challenge.
- How would you like to improve the aviation industry in Arizona?
Candidates should submit the video biography along with a completed and signed application, resume and three letters of recommendation: one personal reference (not a family member) and two professional references from a teacher, employer, or supervisor. Recommendations should highlight candidate’s integrity, determination and resourcefulness.
The scholarship will be awarded to a U.S. citizen without regard to sex, race, religion or national origin. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to recipient’s college or university. The student must be actively pursuing a degree in the aviation field.
