Daisy’s Rescue: From Utah to Tucson, with Love

“Daisy” is a 13-month-old English Springer Spaniel who was turned over to English Springer Rescue America in Utah because her family was moving to a place where they could not have dogs. This darling girl caught the eye of an adopter in Tucson, Ariz., and her adventure began.

After being spayed and microchipped, Daisy hitched a ride on a volunteer’s Cessna 310 from Evanston, Wy. to St. George, Utah; then she buckled up for a car ride from St. George to Las Vegas, where she was treated to an overnight spa stay at Paws ‘n Claws pet resort. The next day, she took off for Phoenix in style, via private jet on a flight donated by Angel MedFlight. The final leg of Daisy’s journey was a short car ride to Tucson, where she made a perfect 94th birthday present for her new “Grandma”!

Daisy was Arizona Coordinator Martii Wallahan’s farewell rescue as state coordinator. After seven years and hundreds of facilitated adoptions, Martii is retiring as coordinator, and looking forward to spending even more time with her six English Springer Spaniels.

Thank you, Martii, for your tireless devotion in helping to save the lives of so many precious canine companions. Angel MedFlight is happy we could help with this very special rescue.

I would like to re-print this wonderful article in The Springer Showcase. Could you give me re-print permission? Can you also send photos? I would need them to be 300 dpi for printing.

    Thank you,
