A Holiday to Remember

By: James Frazier, Angel MedFlight Contributor

Today is Christmas Eve. A day defined by last-minute shoppers and last-minute preparations. Here at Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance, we celebrated the holidays a little last-minute ourselves, knowing the work we do is a 24/7 job. With pride in our hearts, we began enjoying the day together as a team with food, prizes and a little laughter.

My name is James. I am the new Copywriter here at Angel MedFlight, and I wanted to share with you my point of view of our holiday party and give readers additional insight about the people making a difference in the lives of medical patients and their families.

Entering the conference room, I was greeted by Director of Canine Operations, Sam (Golden Lab) who was eager for the festivities (and food dropping) to begin. The room has been “winter-fied” with snowflakes hung from the ceiling, Christmas table decor, Mexican food, and the projector turned on. By experiencing the company culture and meeting most of the staff, a holiday presentation means one of two things: a nice and heartfelt 2012 recap, or everyone is about to laugh and get embarrassed. As more people arrived, the room loomed with curiosity about the video.

A few days earlier, employees sat down for individual interviews explaining what they loved most about working at Angel MedFlight, how they feel about their coworkers, and what they hope to achieve in the New Year. The answers were both hilarious and genuine. In the days leading up to the feature presentation, whispers in the air were all too concerning. The production team could be heard editing the footage, laughing, and proclaiming “this is going to be good.”

Today at the party, employees are anxiously awaiting to see what the production staff has in mind for them – and the video didn’t disappoint. The room filled with laughter from the first clip. Interviews had been spliced and edited to generate amazing responses that reflected a number of the office’s comedic talents. The video came to a close featuring various events and charities Angel MedFlight hosted or attended in 2012. Concluding the party was a holiday raffle where staff members won a flight pillow, gift cards, and the grand prize – an iPad 2.

This had to be one of the best and most entertaining holiday parties I have had the privilege of attending. Not only does this company generate innovation in the medical transportation and air ambulance industry, but as a new employee from day one, the people and mission of the company reflect the testimonials I’ve read online. Everyone is welcoming and extremely dedicated to what they do.
