Employee Profile: Meet Jessica Merwin, Flight Coordinator
At Angel MedFlight, it takes a committed team to accomplish the amazing things that we do. We pride ourselves on being a team that helps our patients through every step of the process of a medical flight. Our Flight Coordinators are on the front lines with patients, taking care of every flight and ground transport detail – from taking the initial call to ensuring that a flight was executed perfectly for our patients, their families, and our medical partners. One of our Flight Coordination Case Managers is Jessica Merwin, who has proven to be a true angel advocate on the Angel MedFlight team for the three years she has been with us. She is no exception to the fact that we are lucky to have a group of selfless and compassionate individuals to make everything we do possible. We took a moment to speak with Jessica and get to know what makes her the exceptional character she is. Here’s what Jessica had to share.
Tell us about yourself, Jessica.
I am 30 years old and try to live life to the fullest every day since we are not guaranteed a tomorrow. I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and continue to make this my home, although I love traveling! I have spent a great deal of time traveling through Europe. I am a true Francophile and love spending as much time as possible in France. I love couture and have a true passion for shoes. I have a Bull Mastiff named Baby who occasionally comes to work with me.
What do you love most about your job as a Flight Coordinator?
I love everything about my job. I work with so many amazing individuals within the company that can help accomplish the most difficult hurdles. The best part of my job is getting to know my patients and their families.
If you could have three wishes granted, what might they be?
A cure for cancer, a fountain of youth, and an afternoon shopping with Ralph Lauren.
What is a goal in life that you are still working toward?
I would like to have a degree in law.
What are some of your favorite holiday traditions?
I love decorating my parents’ tree, candle light service at my church on Christmas Eve and always going to see a movie on Thanksgiving night.
Do you have a favorite holiday memory to share?
My favorite holiday memory was decorating my grandmother’s tree with ALL of my family. She was receiving in-home hospice care at the time. She didn’t make it to the holidays. It was a very bittersweet moment I will always cherish.
We are so lucky to have Jessica as a loyal part of our team. Her talent has been a major asset to everyone here at AMF and to all the lives of the patients she has touched and changed forever. We’ll let you know when Ralph Lauren calls for a shopping trip, Jess!
