This holiday season, the Angel MedFlight team shifted its annual food drive into high gear, donating more than 2,050 canned or non-perishable food items to the Vista Del Camino Food Bank. In the spirit of giving, the staff stirred up a friendly competition between departments affectionately known as the “Angel MedFlight Food Fight.” For two weeks, staff members contributed to the growing stack of donations.
On Tuesday, November 24, a final count was tallied and the Angel MedFlight IT department emerged as the food donation victors donating 990 non-perishable food items!
“The interdepartmental rivalry created a fun environment that benefited
the food bank and increased collaboration among the staff,” explained Paul Green, Chief Information Officer and leader of the IT team. “The Food Fight competition really pushed our teams to donate, but of course, giving back is more important than winning. That’s what makes the holidays so meaningful.”
Angel MedFlight’s Claims & Legal department came in a close second followed by the generous contributions of the Flight Coordination department.
“We are so happy that the Angel MedFlight food drive was such a success,” said event organizer Melanie Gassert of the Angel MedFlight Human Resources department. “Even though it turned into a friendly competition, we never lost sight of what this food drive is really about…giving to those in need during this holiday season.”
